Life is a creative journey. Most often the missing activity for creating the life you desire and realizing your potential and aspirations is “pathfinding”, building plans to achieve your goals that work.

1:30-6 p.m. Career Fair
5—7 p.m. Networking Meet and Greet at Buckhead Pizza Company in the Galleria Mall – hosted by the Marietta Network and sponsored by Hunter Technical Resources

Note:  Although the Career Fair ends at 6 p.m. alumni who arrive after 5:30 p.m. will not be admitted.

Registration Information:

The Georgia Tech Alumni Career Fair is an exclusive benefit for alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as current Georgia Tech graduate students and students graduating in 2012.  If you have not received a degree from Georgia Tech or are not currently enrolled at Tech as a graduate student or a student graduating in 2012, you are not eligible to register for the Career Fair.

The deadline to pre-register is February 28.  Please note you must pre-register for the lunch workshop.  Register online.

Resume Submittal Process:

Career fair attendees should be prepared to distribute paper copies of their resume at the career fair and will be mailed specific directions on uploading their electronic resumes.

Helpful Information:

  • Can I attend the Lunch and Keynote Presentation and not the Career Fair?
    Yes, you can register online for this event through the Career Fair registration process.
  • How many resume copies should I bring to the Fair?
    Based on our experience, you will need a minimum of 15-25 depending on the desired field of interest. Review the company list prior to the career fair to determine how many companies you’d like to speak with and plan accordingly with resumes.
  • Can I find out if a specific company is attending the Fair?
    Yes. We will post the company list soon.
  • Will I have to pay for parking?
    No. Self-parking is complimentary.
  • Once I arrive at the Cobb Galleria Centre, where should I go?
    When you walk in the main entrance of the Cobb Galleria Centre, go up to the second level. Registration is located outside the John A. Williams Ballroom.
  • What is considered appropriate attire for the Fair?
    We recommend business attire.
  • What should I do if I pre-register and realize I won’t be able to make the Fair?
    Companies expect all pre-registered alumni to attend the Fair. Please contact us immediately if you are unable to attend so we can notify companies that you will not be present.
  • Can non-alumni attend the Career Fair, even if they are a guest of an alumnus?
    No.  Admittance to the Career Fair, a service of the Alumni Association, is strictly limited to those who hold a degree from Georgia Tech, are graduating seniors, or graduate students.

GACE College to Career (C2C) Fair 4/12

The GACE College to Career (C2C) Fair is the largest collaborative career fair in the state of Georgia.  Students and alumni from all 30 Georgia colleges and universities, including Georgia Tech, are invited!  The fair will be held from 11AM – 3PM on Tuesday, April 12 at Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA (about 20 minutes from campus).

The Cliff’s Preserve is looking to hire two interns for the spring of 2010 for a six-month internship. January is Chile’s summer and also a very busy time at the preserve. Both internships are for students who want to learn more about an interesting business in Patagonia, Chile.

One internship would focus on the organic garden. All of the food that is grown at the Cliff’s Preserve is grown organically. Even guests are invited into the garden to see its great delights. This person should have experience in agriculture, gardening, and organic foods.

The second internship would focus on the guest experience.
This person will rotate through a variety of roles, such as, greeting clients, dining room, guiding through hikes, penguin watching, etc, spa services, etc.

For both internships, the Cliff’s Preserve is looking for someone who wants to learn, immerse themselves in another culture, is adventurous, is willing to take on any task and also able to multitask.

Language Skills: You must have taken at least two years of college level Spanish at the time of application to apply!

Workshop on Secrets to Applying On-line: Mark your calendar for this workshop which will be given by Mark Lyden of Boeing entitled “Secrets of Applying Online”.  If you’re ever felt like applying on an employer’s website is a black hole and wondered what you can do to set yourself apart, this workshop is for you!  It will be held on Monday, Sept. 13, at 4:00 p.m. in the Student Success Center Clary Theatre.

Jump Start Your Career in Your Second Year: Tips & Strategies from Industry Experts: If you are a 2nd year student, plan to come to this workshop especially geared towards helping you with all things career-related!  This workshop will feature two guest speakers who will offer advice on professional communication skills, personal branding, cover letters, and how to set yourself apart in the application and interview process.   Our guest speakers are Ben Reed from West Reed, an Atlanta-based branding and marketing communications firm and co-founder of Lingo Training, a new initiative to help business people improve their written communication, and Joel Edwards, Director of Capital projects and Business Support for Kimberly Clark’s Global Nonwovens division. This workshop will be on Wednesday, Sept 15 from 5-6PM in the Student Success Center Clary Theatre.  Pizza and soda will be served! No need to RSVP; just show-up.

The Renaissance Waverly Hotel is connected to the Cobb Galleria Centre and is located at 2450 Galleria Parkway. You may contact the hotel at 888-391-8724 or 770-953-4500. There is no room block associated with this hotel.
