12:15-1:30 p.m. Lunch and Keynote Presentation: Ralph Cleveland, ME 1986, Executive Vice President and President of Nicor GasPathfinding, The Art of Making Way for Success

Life is a creative journey. Most often the missing activity for creating the life you desire and realizing your potential and aspirations is “pathfinding”, building plans to achieve your goals that work.

1:30-6 p.m. Career Fair
5—7 p.m. Networking Meet and Greet at Buckhead Pizza Company in the Galleria Mall – hosted by the Marietta Network and sponsored by Hunter Technical Resources

Note:  Although the Career Fair ends at 6 p.m. alumni who arrive after 5:30 p.m. will not be admitted.

Registration Information:

The Georgia Tech Alumni Career Fair is an exclusive benefit for alumni of the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as current Georgia Tech graduate students and students graduating in 2012.  If you have not received a degree from Georgia Tech or are not currently enrolled at Tech as a graduate student or a student graduating in 2012, you are not eligible to register for the Career Fair.

The deadline to pre-register is February 28.  Please note you must pre-register for the lunch workshop.  Register online.

Resume Submittal Process:

Career fair attendees should be prepared to distribute paper copies of their resume at the career fair and will be mailed specific directions on uploading their electronic resumes.

Helpful Information:

  • Can I attend the Lunch and Keynote Presentation and not the Career Fair?
    Yes, you can register online for this event through the Career Fair registration process.
  • How many resume copies should I bring to the Fair?
    Based on our experience, you will need a minimum of 15-25 depending on the desired field of interest. Review the company list prior to the career fair to determine how many companies you’d like to speak with and plan accordingly with resumes.
  • Can I find out if a specific company is attending the Fair?
    Yes. We will post the company list soon.
  • Will I have to pay for parking?
    No. Self-parking is complimentary.
  • Once I arrive at the Cobb Galleria Centre, where should I go?
    When you walk in the main entrance of the Cobb Galleria Centre, go up to the second level. Registration is located outside the John A. Williams Ballroom.
  • What is considered appropriate attire for the Fair?
    We recommend business attire.
  • What should I do if I pre-register and realize I won’t be able to make the Fair?
    Companies expect all pre-registered alumni to attend the Fair. Please contact us immediately if you are unable to attend so we can notify companies that you will not be present.
  • Can non-alumni attend the Career Fair, even if they are a guest of an alumnus?
    No.  Admittance to the Career Fair, a service of the Alumni Association, is strictly limited to those who hold a degree from Georgia Tech, are graduating seniors, or graduate students.

GACE College to Career (C2C) Fair 4/12

The GACE College to Career (C2C) Fair is the largest collaborative career fair in the state of Georgia.  Students and alumni from all 30 Georgia colleges and universities, including Georgia Tech, are invited!  The fair will be held from 11AM – 3PM on Tuesday, April 12 at Cobb Galleria in Atlanta, GA (about 20 minutes from campus).

Tuesday, April 6

11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Career Fair Check-In
12:15 – 1:30 p.m. Lunch Workshop: Your Career Game – Decisions about your career are likely among the most important ones you will make in your life. Are you equipped with the tools to play effectively? – Presenter: Nate Bennett, Ph.D., MGT 1989. Cost – $10
1:30 – 6 p.m. Career Fair
5:30 – 7 p.m. Networking Meet and Greet – Network and mingle with fellow alumni and employers at Chow Baby inside the Cobb Galleria Mall. Hosted by the Cobb/Marietta GT Club

Hotel Accommodations

The Renaissance Waverly Hotel is connected to the Cobb Galleria Centre and is located at 2450 Galleria Parkway. You may contact the hotel at 888-391-8724 or 770-953-4500. There is no room block associated with this hotel.

The Sheraton Suites Galleria is another possibility for accommodations and is located across Cobb Parkway from the Cobb Galleria. The areas are connected by footbridge. You may contact the Sheraton directly at 888-625-5144 or 770-955-3900. There is no room block associated with this hotel.

If Traveling Northbound on I-75 (or coming from Atlanta Airport):
If traveling north or south on I-75 take Exit 258/Cumberland Boulevard. Go west on Cumberland Boulevard and proceed to Cobb Parkway/US 41. Turn right on Cobb Parkway and go 7/10ths of a mile to Galleria Drive. Turn right onto Galleria Drive and right again into the Cobb Galleria Centre parking deck.

North/East Directions from I-285:
If traveling north or east on I-285 take Exit 19/Cobb Parkway/US 41. Turn right onto Cobb Parkway and move into the left -hand turning lane. Turn left onto Galleria Drive and right into the Cobb Galleria Centre parking deck.

South/West Directions from I-285 (Stone Mountain/Athens):
If traveling south or west on I-285 take Exit 20/Cobb Parkway/US 41. Turn left onto Cobb Parkway and go under I-285. Make a left hand turn at the second traffic light onto Galleria Drive and turn right into the Cobb Galleria Centre parking deck.
