Vagina Monologues Benefit at the Ferst Center, Friday 3/11 @ 7:30 p.m.

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Women’s Awareness Month presents a one-night benefit production of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues on Friday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ferst Center for the Arts. Hailed by The New York Times as “funny” and “poignant” and by the Daily News as “intelligent” and “courageous,” The Vagina Monologues, which was first performed off- Broadway by Ms. Ensler, dives into the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in women’s experiences.

Join us as we raise funds for United 4 Safety, an organization that works to reduce the intimate partner violence within the LGBTQQI community community by improving the understanding of and response to intimate partner violence through education, training, and resource development.

Doors will open at 6:45, and parking is free in the IC parking deck.  A dessert reception will be held afterwards for friends and family of the cast.

Tickets are $8 for students, $10 for faculty/staff, and $16 for the public and can be purchased at the Ferst Center website.

Volunteer for Women’s Awareness Month; Apps. due 12/17

Tuesday, December 7th, 2010

Are you looking to get involved on Campus? Looking for a way to add to your resume? WAM has a solution for you.

Women’s Awareness Month (WAM), is a campus event that takes place every March, sponsored through the Women’s Resource Center, that increases awareness of women’s issues.  WAM is composed of several events including Red Dress Fashion Show, a performance of Eve Ensler’s The Vagina Monologues, Women’s Day of Service, and Take Back the Night.  All of these events require people to organize and staff them.

That’s where you come in.  A committee for WAM has already been created, but several committee chairs are still looking for members for a subcommittee.  Subcommittee members would be completing a wide variety of tasks and learning valuable skills.

If you are interested in joining a subcommittee, or just supporting WAM through volunteering to work at some of the events, please go fill out our online application.
Contact Ali Kinser at akinser3@gatech.edu with any questions.

Thanks for you support of WAM!
